The difference is there is NO snes one

. Final Fantasy III was only for NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) and was never remade or ported to any other system.
And now it has been reworked for the Nintendo DS. This is not some updated version with new gfx tho, Final Fantasy 3 DS has alot of new stuff, greatly differing from the original

However the Final Fantasy 3 that was released in the US is actually Final Fantasy 6 in Japan.
He might mean the NES one. I've played/beaten that one but I don't remember it all too well since it was a long time ago. It was the first FF to really introduce the class system as you started out as "onion kids" or whatever. It was actually a really good game so I hope this new one can be as good or better. I don't think it will exactly be like that one though.

That makes perfect sense. X-2 completes X. Maybe FFX+2 would work.
