Since it has only been about a week since it's US release I was getting curious as to how far people have been able to get in the game in this short span of time. Now mostly I'm refering to the Red Rescue Team version since this is the one that I have (only the rom but soon the real thing).

These are my stats as of this post:
Play Time: 4:42:40
Adventures: 20
Pokemon I am: Machop (LV 15)
Partner: Pikachu (LV 15)
Friends: Magnemite (LV 6)
Zigzagoon (LV 20)
Ratatta (LV 3)

My current "story mission" involves me going to Mt. Thunder to save a Pokemon named Shifty from the Pokemon that captured him (if you've made it this far then you should know what Pokemon I'm talking about).

Anyway I'm just curious to see how many others have gotten this far (or farther). Now I know some of you got a copy of the J rom when it came out so unfortunatly this question does not apply to you. Only those that either managed to get a hold of the rom or have actual bought and play the game on a real GBA system should answer this question.

It doesn't matter what information you put about your adventure just post whatever you think is important.

I'm Squirtle. smile.gif I just started, though.

I'm sorry but I cannot answer that question. It is against the forum rules to request roms in any part of the site.
Agozer
Kite, read the board rules before you ask more similar questions and get yourself in more trouble.

This is not a request.
Haldrie
Hey Mooney, how's the game so far?
Wizard
Didn't get a chance to buy it yet. But going too, how is the game in general?

This game is like no other Pokemon game before. There is no special battle arenas to go to everytime you fight. The battles take place right where they happen. It's kind of like FFXI Online and WoW where you see your enemy and you can try and avoid it (that part's not so easy sometimes) or fight it. Also, everything is turn based (the enemy won't move unless you do, giving you time to react). As far the actual story, you play as yourself as usual but you have been transformed into a Pokemon. The story is slowly revealing itself for me but the suspense is killing me. I can't wait to find out what happens next. The rom is already out on the net is several locations although none of them can be found on google (yet) and I can't post any links. Since you are already planning on buying it I see no harm in saying this. If you do manage to find a copy of the rom then try it out. It will give a good head start no what you'll need to do when you get the real game.

My rating to far would be a 9/10 (always leaving room for improvement). This is however the best Pokemon game yet (in my opinion) and anyone that likes Pokemon should get it.

You can visit the official site at:

for more information and to get a jump start on the quiz that you have to take in the game.

Well, I plan on getting the DS version and not the GBA one. Besides in name and part of gameplay, I want to know if the gameplay isdifferent on the DS version.

As for the story, interests me highly.

Well let me know if it is different when you get it. I have a rom of it but I can't get any of the DS emulators to play it sad.gif. If there is no difference (except for maybe graphics) then my guess is that the DS will display the dungeons map on a seperate screen instead of as an overlay like the GBA version. I know that there is a wireless feature in Blue Rescue Team that will allow you to request help from someone else if you "faint" in a dungeon. Both games have codes that you send to someone that works the same way as the wireless feature does. At least as far as I have read (about it being like the wireless feature that is). I might try searching for some screenshots on google or something later to find out more.

It's fun, but my game got erased, and I've been too lazy to start it up again. dry.gif But I do likes my Po-keh-mons! biggrin.gif

I ran a command in DSLinux that "may erase your savegames," and it did. rolleyes.gif
Haldrie
Ouch. That is why you always back-up your saves before doing something like that. How far had you gotten before they got erased?
Mooney
I got to evolve into a Wartortle! thumbsup.gif Good fun.
Samurai Edge
I'm now able to evolve pokemons and I'm in that Relic dungeon. IMO, the game isn't that great. I think if the game is more silimar to one SNES game (really can't remember the name) which you can freely control yourself and let your allies fight without much distruption.
Haldrie
Drat! I can't belive everyone is farther then I am. Oh well I guess I'll get there eventually. I've been too busy with other things to play much in the last few days.

I suppose you do make a point Samurai Edge (although I wouldn't know what game your refering too as I never did play too many SNES games). I mostly like the game because of how it is revealing the story line. It makes me want to keep playing regardless of any "problems" it may or may not have (it just depends or your opinion).

I did progress some since my first post but I don't want to give away too much for those who haven't played it yet. I guess I kind of made this topic out of curiosity anyway (it will probably start to die out in the next week or so but oh well). I still recommend this game to Pokemon fans as it breaks out of the usual "Gotta' Catch 'em All" method of play and focuses on a different aspect of Pokemon all together (unless I'm missing something, a great change of pace from GAMEFREAK Inc. if this is true)(this topic is starting to turn into a personal review...maybe I should change the title).

Anyway, for those that have the game already, please feel free to post you progress and stats...and possibly your S.O.S. codes if you need help (now I'm getting somewhere with this). I'm sure there will be someone here that will be willing to rescue you from your peril in that "hard to beat" dungeon.

Take care, and enjoy the game...*opens VBA and loads rom* *wishes to own real game so he doesn't have to worry about computer crashing*.

dungeon.filb.de

copy and paste that into your browser for a website where you post your codes and stuff for people to save you and they do, you can also save people, kinda competitive because people can be doing the same mission at the same time.

I finally saw a commercial at Wal-Mart that showed Blue Rescue Team being played. The graphics looked the same as Red Rescue Team but the top screen showed party stats and stuff. I only got a short glimps of it but this is basiclly what I saw. The commercial was short anyway so it didn't show much. Hopefully there is a video somewhere on the internet of it being played.

P.S. That's it, no more clicking on Samurai Edge's sig links! Bad Haldrie!
Jarujin
Dang you Samurai Edge >_<

Hey now, let's not turn this into an argument.

I decided to got to Gamespot.com to see what they had to say about these games and to get a little more information. First it seems that Gamefreak has nothing to do with this game. Instead Nintendo went with a company called ChunSoft who apparently are infamous for their "Mystery Dungeon" games, which according to the reviews, are not really good.

Red got a 5.4 and Blue got a 5.2 (mediocre for both) average rating by Gamespot. Player ratings very drasticlly depending on the voter. This apparently is due to the fact that these games are nothing more then "dugeon hacks" with some Pokemon stuff added to it. Before I go any further just know that I am stating this based on the Gamespot reviews and not my own opinion. I will however admit that I do find the game to be a bit tedious and repetitive but the story (and the fact that it's a Pokemon game) is what keeps me playing.

Many of you I'm sure have been wondering what the difference is between the Red and Blue versions of the game since they are different systems. The fact is that graphics wise there is no difference whatsoever for the DS version. The bottom screen shows everything that the GBA screen shows and it uses the top screen to show map locations and party stats depending on your location.

You can find the gamespot review pages here:
Red Rescue Team (GBA)
Blue Rescue Team (NDS)

I would post more information myself but my thoughts clash greatly with that of Gamespot's review staff so I'll just let you read it for yourself and make your own opinion about it. You can find in-game videos and player reviews as well as Gamespot's main review by clicking on the above links.

[EDIT]
I finally got the Blue Rescue Team rom that I have working on a DS emulator. As I said above there is no real difference between it and Red Rescue Team exept for the fact that Blue shows some extra stuff on the top screen, like location maps and party info, and it allows you to use the touch screen to make menu selections and scroll through speeches by touching the screen in the appropriate areas. Gameplay graphics and everything else are exactly like Red so it really all depends on what system you prefer to play on.

does anyone know if uou can play any of these Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games on a emulator on the PC?
if you do, does any one have a download link? rolleyes.gif
Haldrie
Well so far the Nintendo DS emulators still have not been perfected so you won't really be able to play Blue Rescue Team but Red Rescue Team is for the GBA and the best emulator for that system is VisualBoy Advance. You can download it here:
http://vba.ngemu.com/

They haven't updated the official version in a while but since it's an open source emulator there have been many 3rd-party versions such as vba-link which let's you link two games together much like on of the old Gameboy Color emulators did.

Now as far as being able to play the game you will need what is know as the rom which is a file that contains all of the data that is on the chip in the actual cartriges. You can either "rip" the cartrige yourself or download it from the internet. However due to the rules of this forum I cannot give you any links to the roms so I'm afraid you're on you're own there.
