I know the VBA has a rather neat speed function but it is just too fast for any practical usage. Is there any way that i can decrease the speed so tat it can be of more practical usage?
thanks guys

Make sure you have no throttle set.

no, i did not on the throttle. i just use the normal default button for speed which is spacebar. the thing is, it is just too fast. so it is kinda pointless.

Why do you want to speed it up? Just change the speedup key to some other than Spacebar. No, you can't make the speedup go less speedy.

Auto frameskip turned on should do it. Given that certain key combos enable/disable functions, you probably turned off frameskip/frame limiter.

Or you enabled "Speed up toggle" in Options > Emulator
