Here's the next version. Some small, but nice things added as well as the ability to map whatever keys you want to most of the DS buttons. If you use the WFC data, make sure eveything is manually filled out, don't leave anything on auto, as the lib doesn't support it yet. Enjoy.
Win2DS v0.3Mirror below.
---------
Changelog:
---------
v0.3:
-Added reading WiFi data from firmware- if setup, you will only have to enter server IP and password to connect.
-Added mouse cursor to screenshots.
-Moved keyboard down a bit.
-Shoulder buttons now center around the touched area (not in the corner any more).
-Changed nudge keys to scroll when held.
-Screens now turn off when lid is closed.
-Used updated touch code from libnds.
-Added option for relative mouse movement.
-Added custom keys option. You can now bind keyboard keys to the DS buttons.
-Added minor speed boost to screenshots.

Awesome update. Thank you for taking the suggestions onboard! I sorta liked it better when the zoomed view pointed into the corner though.
Just a word about using the DS's WiFi config, I don't think DHCP works properly. My WiFi settings are configured for DHCP therefore I can't use the options from there; I have to manually assign everything.

Never mind me, I'm probably a minority. I had a play around with it just then and it's awesome. Thank you so much for your effort

Yup. That's a major bug. Until it's fixed, Win2DS can't work.

I noticed that there's an inconsistency between the cursor displayed on the DS and the cursor displayed on the monitor. The cursor on the DS will be higher and more to the left than it actually is. The red circle in my screenshot shows where my cursor was pointed.

I never had any problems with the old keyboard but now i'm getting incorrect chars all the time.

I had to offset the cursor a bit because it was off in the opposite direction on my computer. It'd help if other people could chime in with where it is on their computers. Plus it looks like you might have a custom cursor or something (the one on mine is white with a black outline), so I'm not sure.

If you set it to the fastest refresh setting, you could probably get around 7-10 fps.

I took something out in this version that I had done to improve the keyboard previously, I suppose I'll put it back in the next, since it can't hurt besides that you have to type a bit slower.

I have looked around the forums and even asked around a bit on IRC
and since this isn't in the readme, I hope you won't get mad at me for asking/suggesting this..
Is it possible to swap the screens and click on the ZOOMED view?
If not, PLEASE DEAR GOD make it possible!
I can't beleive how it's like nobody has even mentioned this anywhere on the entire planet!
(sorry for freaking out.. I just love this thing)
It's not even in the planned features list
Sintax
Feb 7 2006, 05:12 PM
That will be in the next version and it has been suggested before. Although I can't be mad at you because I didn't put it in the planned features list because that thing is a pain to keep updated

You should be able to use it from any access point, over the internet. I haven't tried it or worked on it over the internet (as oppsed to on a LAN), so I'm not sure how well it will work, but it'll work. I'll work on that soon.
As for WEP, ITS NOT IN THE LIB YET. I can't do anything about it until it is. Read up on all this stuff before you post.

Where did you see that? from latest update:
"... WEP is being worked on but it's unclear why it's not working at the moment. I'm still busy with other projects besides this one so it is still going slowly, but progress is being made. "

alright im confused... the last version i downloaded had an option for 64 bit WEP encryption and 128 bit... i got into my router which has 64 bit encryption and it pinged successfully...

The DS only supports up to 2mbit. That's still fast enough for most apps.

Also, I think you can fake up to speeds of 11mbit. That doesn't mean you can do those speeds, just make the DS fake that it can, I think.

Hi there,
I get just 2 black screens when running ds2win.ds. ds2win.ds.gba works fine.
Got an M3-SD and tried copying or using the gamemanager.
The ds.gba-thing finds the server, but hangs up at "waiting..."-screen

Is it my wep-encryption?
Edit: Oops, WEP isn't supported. Thought it would be working, because your program can now read the firmware settings.
Edit2: Well, I tried a bit.
- The mouse is at the right position

See attachment.
- I couldn't connect when reading the firmware settings. Even not without WEP configured at all (in router and DS-firmware). So I had to configure the connection manually. Only then it works. So no really new features for me in 0.3

But still a great program

- The keyboard is mixed up (some special characters and the shift-mode). I'm from Germany, so the layout is different, but in v0.2 it worked perfectly.
- The keyboard calibration is MUCH better now

Yeah, I think you're talking about if, say, you drag the pen left across the screen and it makes you turn left. Just set the mouse to relative and it works like a mouse in most games.
