Run DS app. Configure...
Run server app. Leave...
Press GRAL. Behold! A screen!
My AP is a softap.
No idea if that helps.

also one thing I'd like to note, is whenever I first start the program, my m3 boot menu shows up on half the screen and is garbled on the bottom until I hit A or B to update it.
Also I get a garbled screen when I come out of text mode.

I had the same problem earlier today, My IP I input wasn' the right one (I have multiple computers within this network, so somtimes I forget which one I'm on), plus, my firewall kept blocking it even thoguh I told it to accept the connection. I finally went in and set it all right and it all worked out.

"Ok. I'm having a bit of trouble. I'm using a flashcart. A v6 Flashme'd NDS. I can connect to my AP, but it gives me colums of green pixels on the top of the lower screen and a red lines of pixels in the middle of the bottom screen. zooming/ gral-ing doesn't change the picture. What's wrong?"
Same problem here wtih the same setup. It responds to button press etc according to the top screen, but nothing happens. Every other Wifi app I can find (including DS2Key which should use the exact same settings) runs just fine. Oddly I've also noticed that this won't run from flashcart with the Multi-nds loader. It fails with "Waiting for Arm7 init" or something similar on the top screen. Had to use WMB and download play.
Quite annoying as this seems a really cool app.
Same weird bottom screen here too! Do you have a Supercard CF?
Nope. Standard GBA flash cart. I did wonder if it could be related to something like monitor refresh rate, resolution or similar but I'm far too tired to test through all the possibilities. It's an odd one. Everything seems like it should be working and it's all connected fine. I've tried it with a Nintendo Wifi stick, an actual standard wireless USB stick, a Wireless router and a PCMCIA card with the driver hack. All work for every other app (again, DS2Key uses the same Wifi setup system and works perfectly even), yet this... No luck. It's a puzzle.

and the newest version of Win2DS doesn't seem to work. Based on the problem I'm having, the author of Win2DS claims that I must have put in the wrong configuration. However, I'm using the same configuration that WORKS for PointyRemote.

Really cool app,
I was just starting to work on a thing like this, but I guess there is already many people working on it now...
Just one idea: why not try to load and save the settings to the CF using the simple readconfig and writeconfig that are in my WiFi transfer program?

Anyone having trouble with this like I was, try the following tip someone else mentioned; change the DS IP address to something LOWER than the default which ends.189 as many routers limit to lower than.150 and thus.189 is no good.
For example, I changed my DS IP to end with.003 instead of.189 and it now works fine. No more problems, screen is displaying just fine. Hope this helps some of you.

You have to alter the drivers of the USB dongle to make it work like a regular router first.

I just realized that if the buttons were correctly mapped, and the frame update was (greatly) increased, you could play pc-games somewhere else than your computer, cool!

Call me a noob, but can someone post a guide on how to configure this ? I can run WinDS easily enough, but i don't know where to fill in what data with pointyremote.
Where do i fill in the ip of the DS itself ? And where of the server ?. I've tried a couple of combinations, with changing the Ip's at the connect to AP and at the UDP test screen but i get nothing but black screens.

nvm i finnaly got it to work. I'll make a short guide:
----------------
On the "connect to AP" screen:
IP = DS IP, do it in the same range as your server, so if server is 192.168.0.1, make the DS IP something like 192.168.0.66
Gateway = Server IP
DNS = Server IP
Then connect, should be successful, and you'll get the UDPtest(pointyremote) button. The DS IP will be automaticly entered here, but you want to change this to the Server IP.
Then connect, and you get 2 black screeens, but that's normal, press A & B to update the screens and it should work. You'll need to keep pressing A & B since it doesn't auto update the screens.
Other buttons:
A= update zoomed view
B= update complete (gral) view
R= Switch screens (for interaction, click on the complete view to move the location of the zoomed view, click on the zoomed view to control it as a mouse)
Select = Bring up keyboard (use "\" as enter\return)
---------------
Anyway program works good enough, allthough it is a bit unstable. It seems to crash after 5~10 minutes of use on my M3 SD, but for the rest, keep up the good work

You know what would be cooler? If you could reverse this and see your DS on the computer and play it via the computer. You could do a type of proxy exe to the game exe and stream the video to the computer. I think it would be neat even if just to get it on the screen.

I dont see why not, It might be slow but you should still be able to have one program start another like DLL interjection but for the DS. Can a DS exe run another and still reside in memorry? Just directly hook the main screen buffer output and stream it to the server. You could use this to put it on a computer screen then from the computer to the tv. I think it would be cool. It might be hard but not impossible. If I had a DS I could load stuff on Id try it but alas I dont. Anyways, Think about it you never know you might go Ahhh I could do it like this!

well i don't have that adapter which i think is kind of like the nintendo adapter but it works for the psp aswell
my problem is that when i use the program, i put in all of my settings(which takes a while because the ds screen isn't accurate and i press the number 1 and get like the letter w which can take time to write) then it takes me to 2 black screens. what i can do there is press select to write a messege and then i press ok, but now the black screens have some weird green lines on them and that's it. I hope you can help me....

Jan 28 2006, 06:14 PM
the garbage thing at those screens is cause of bad memory and modes management (will be fixed in the next release)
at that stage, ull have to update Zoomed screen with A, or gral screen with B
if nothing happens, check your ip settings, that might be the problem
alsa, if you are using some kind of nat between your pc and the DS, it might not work, cause of the fact, that the ds never tells anyone that i'll be using port 8888 to receive packets
