Couldnt submit my 188 points on EAT!

Ahh so I did find this topic already submitted... What is the deal with arcade? I joined on October 7 2007, and so I never seen what was in there. What was in there, and why is it gone. Also, if it isn't coming back... why is there a button for it still?

it was like little flash games. not all that exciting, if I remember correctly they had leaderboards and the high scorer had it in his profile. or something like that.

Oh flash games.... I only ever liked a couple of the ones I played, Like that chopper, or helicopter... what was it.... kinda like metal slug, meets flash.

Anyway, screw that... No offense, but they provably sucked. But if they didn't .... bring 'em back.

I believe there were some classics like pac-man and galaga. but it was way bloated with stupid stuff.

Well, it was quite fun actually. I do wish the arcade will be resurrected.

We had over 200-500 games to choose from, if I remember right. Sure, there were quite a few crappy games, but there were also a lot fun games. The arcade has been down since August of 2007 if I remember correctly, but I think I'm way off, since it feels a lot longer.

At this point, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the arcade.

edit: The time this thread was made, the arcade was working. The original poster is complaining about a specific game or problem within the arcade not working.

why not whittle it down to say 50-75 good ones and reopen.

Also, make it only for premium members. At least, we won't have those that posted for 10 posts then just stay in the arcades always

There was already a 35 or 50 post limit at the time the arcade was online to prevent that. 100 posts for arcade access is a bit much IMO.

That would piss off all the high scorers like Jaegermeister who had to have a high score in every game. I think I may have exaggerated with 500 games, but it sure was over a 100. Starting fresh can sometimes kill the extravaganza that made it famous.

Jaegermeister is not around anymore anyway. Why not start afresh instead of keeping old scores?

Agreed. How about I make up a game!!! Ohhhhhhhh yea. You have no idea what I am capable of. But... is it down due to memory size? or server issues? I don't understand... why was it taken down in the first place?

Server issues. It was spitting out error messages.

That was 2 servers ago.

Might be time to let the admins see if it works or not now.

Not now. Maybe not ever. We'll just have to wait and see.

edit: To be more frank .... if I were to turn it on now, it would probably open up a can of worms that I'm not willing to kill at the moment.

I've seen elsewhere issues with arcades that are not about faulty software. It would be sad if such a thing was the cause of our problem.

I don't think it's the cause of any of our problems, recent or past. Don't worry, be happy now.

still here And I am playing all these flash-games like before , mostly every day , but just on a other page since the Arcade-sector here is closed .
It would be nice to see the Arcade games here back , some good old players like Sturmvogel are not aktive anymore , all the Highscores should be deleted .

some people really seemed to like it. I played a few games, but getting anywhere on the leader boards was impossible with guys like Jaeger around lol.

Yeah, some were good.

IIRC; the main reason the arcade was taken offline in the first place was that some people found a way to rig the scores. Not talking about Jaegermeister here.

IMO the arcade was a place that I frequently visited very often when I came here. Still waiting for it to come back up, had lots of fun times. One of my friends also insanely loved it. Thats all he did was go to the arcade on this site... tried his very best to get 1st place on all the games he played. Will it ever come back up?

I've been trying to click on and whatnot, I don't want to go searching all over the place for a game to play. I just wanna chill on something, anf be in one place. Yall seem alright.
