I've tried Visual Boy Advance but it won't seem to emulate berry growing in Pokémon Emerald very well. The problem is that when I plant a berry in the ground, save, exit the emulator, and then return to the game later; the berry is neither in the ground nor in my bag!

VBA is the best you can get. At the moment anyway. You might want to give kode54's build a try; it has all kinds of improvements.

My advice to you is that: don't play pokemon games

Well i dont like em either, but its no more or less than the same repetive monster slashing than in most RPGs.

Are you saving to a state? If so, you may have the Read-only option checked on your save file. Uncheck it if it is...It should work.
