Hey,
I'm using Project 64 and trying to play Zelda, Majora's mask. The main problem I'm having is that when I turn on "limit FPS" (as in Fields per second as I found out via the help file) it limits it at 50 fields per second. This seems MUCH slower than what it should be doing on an N64, and I want to make it limit it at 60 or maybe 70 Fields per second. Is this possible? I'm using Project 64 version 1.6.

Would that mean.... that it's a problem with the ROM?

It's not really a problem, it's just a different region. But in your case it can be called a problem. You need to get the USA version of the ROM. It will be denoted as [U] most likely. Did the rom you download have [E]?

bah, gryph beat me to it. But yeah, if you do have the [E] version of MM, then it will run at 50 fps. games meant to run on PAL TV systems can only do 50 fps.

Moved to the N64 section.
BTW, i belive FPS stands for frames per second (or first person shooter, but that's not related)

As a general rule, never download E region roms unless you have very bad english skills. Furthermore, U games always run 10fps faster that E ones. The difference comes from PAL vs. NTSC region timings.

I downloaded the [U] Version of LOZ:MM but it only runds at bout 25 fps on a 64bit 2.8GHz CPU, 512MBgraphics and 1.5GIG of DDR400 Ram...
could this just be a problem with where i got it?
also when i leave the first town and try to go through the forest, the game crashes, any help???

Chances are that the rom image is busted, If I recall, my copy runs at a steady 60/60 and hasn't crashed. What video plugin/other plugins do you use?

512 mb graphics card? Which one do you have? I thought about getting one but decided not to.

Does Project64 (I'm assuming that's the one you use) report your rom as 'Compatible'?

yeah but with small graphics errors thats why the ground doesn't have grass...
maybe i should try P64 1.6 as i'm still using p64 1.5
do you think that could be part of the problem?

You really should keep better track of emulator updates, almost without exceptions, always use the latest versions. Also download the RDB WIP update for PJ64 from the 1Emulation Downloads section.

Nvidias GeForce 6800 Ultra (great over clocking)
only worth it if you have good games to use it for, like i have Doom3 on PC but the real game i'm waiting for is UT2007, so i'm saving for that and the AMD 3600 64bit CPU that i want...
Any way i tryed the new 1.6 version and the same thing happen, i got out side the first town and headed down tot he forest but as soon as i get halt way to the exit it spots and say "Unable to find local memory" then closes...
so what do i do?
