I've been trying for quite a while to get a DOA rom and then an emulator to run it but every time something keeps me from the goal. Right now I have mame (doesn't work for sure) and nebula which might work if I can figure out how to run it. I have the rom but it refuses to run because it can't find the rom files. It has something to do with the directory thing but I can't figure it out. If anything can someone help me with using nebula?
Gryph
In the Nebula Model 2 emulator directory, you will see EMULATOR.INI. Open it in Notepad. Then you'll see
QUOTE
;Add your rom directories here (max 10)
;ROMS subdirectory in the same folder than the exe is always scanned when searching for roms
;(remove the ; form Dir1)
[RomDirs]
;Dir1=c:\Model2\roms

Just do what it says. So if your ROM is in D:\Model2roms then enter this just below what I quoted above:
QUOTE
Dir1=D:\Model2roms

Hope it all works out for you.
KSUkid
It didn't

I'll quote mine

;(remove the ; form Dir1)
[RomDirs]
Dir1=C:\MAME\nebula

then I went to load game and doa[b] and it said it couldn't find any of the files, all 35
Gryph
Try putting that ROM in the Model 2 emulator directory and see what happens.
KSUkid
still unable to load

seems right to me
are there any other emulators to run doa?
Gryph
MAME does but you'll need a powerful computer to run it.

http://caesar.logiqx.com/html/games/doa.shtml will tell you all the emulators it works with. The site isn't working now but it should soon.
KSUkid
thanks for all your help I hope I can get this to work eventually

Not soo fast. tongue.gif

It can be played in Nebula Model 2 emulator.
Try to do it from the begining:

Unzip the folder m2emulator

Enter the folder [m2emulator]
Create a new folder called [roms]
Put the rom inside it.
Then Start the emulator --> Load rom
Choose [Dead or Alive (Model 2B)]

If it didn't work then make sure that you have:
doa.zip 29MB and this one---> doab.zip 334kb
It won't work without doab.zip
Agozer
Dead or Alive ++ not only looks better but runs better than it's Model2 counterpart.

I forgot to say that DOA is working in Nebula Model 2 emulator but
it is very slow. sad.gif

It's not slow if you disable a certain graphics buffer. however, this contains lifebars etc. :/ It's kinda aggravating to not know when you're about to get defeated.

Thanks for the tip. I think you should just feel the lifebar of your player laugh.gif
Agozer
Disabling the graphics buffer makes lifebars, scores etc. invisible in other Model2 games as well.

I did all of that stuff but it said it wouldn't find any of the files not just some. I'll just get doa++

I don't know about this, maybe you have changed the sitting or something like that. eyebrow.gif

Ok. If you still have m2emulator.zip
Try to unzip the file again in another location and do the same thing.
Create a new folder in m2emulator called [roms] put the games inside it. (try it, It may work)

What DirectX do you have installed? What graphics card/chip are you using? Are your drivers up to date?
Agozer
Most likely a DirectX problem or severely outdated display drivers like Mr. G said.

I just got direct x 9.0 a few days ago so it's not that.
I'm not sure what video card I have.
on doa++ I've been googling for coh-1002m.353 but every site I find either just lists the files or the download link for downloading this file doesn't work. It's like they're working against me. know what site might have it?
Agozer
It's against the board rules to ask for the Tecmo TPS BIOS file. AKA no, we can't tell you where to get it, but it's not that hard to find.

How can people not know what video card they have? Goto Start --> Run, and type "dxdiag" without the quotes and press Enter. Click on the Display tab.
