Dear PlasticSlug,
Can you please post a link to this so called COCkbite plugin?
and specify what version rom you are using (E-U-J), with, if any, rom patch(s) applied. also emu and plugin info/settings would be helpful.

the links to existing post do not qualify your answer of "yes it works 100%"
in fact they leave more questions than answers.

This game is awsome and i have been unable to resurrect it, due to lack of support from plugins and forums alike, this thread is still an area of interest, and have been searching for a solution for quite some time, and this is the closest ive got.

is there a plugin or patch i can use to make my rom:
Star Wars - Rogue Squadron (E) [!]
WORK!

current n64 emu:
1964v099
gfx:Rice's Daedalus 6.1.0

current pc:
Celeron320D
gfx:Radeon9550

"Help us Obi-wan your our only hope."

My general advice would be to use the [U] version instead of the [E] version. PAL is doomed.
Shinibi-sama
Thx Agozer, I will find out soon enough if the (U) version of the rom works.

I use the [E] versions of roms, particularly for N64, for 2 reasons:
1. They are multi-lingual (though i am english;i just have em' on priciple)
2. They run at lower framerates, so they aren't as demanding on my gfx/pc
(but now ive upgraded my gfx card none should be a problem)

so in conclusion, im thankful for your/any reply/suggestion
and if PAL is doomed...to hell with it then, whatever works, i just wanna know.

This is an urban legend and it's complete BS.

About the [U] version, it does not work in Project64 as is; no version does
PLasticSlug

PAL is doomed.

so is NTSC (Never Twice the Same Color)

only good thing about it was a 60Hz refresh rate caused (in the early days) by the fact thats the Hz rate of the US/Japanese electricity supply.

it wasn't a choice.

Color Separation is terrible, Chrominance & Luminance is all screwed up,
and (of course) the resolution is lower than that of PAL.

it was only chosen by the National Television System Committee because it was cheap (and compatible with preexisting Black + White sets)

it ain't all that.

PAL60 fills the gap (Correct Colour, size and speed)
but HD is next in line to the throne of both.
Agozer
yes, quite true, Phase Alternate by Line has a lot of good features, PAL60 especially. Still, looking back, PAL has had some really flocked up variations like SECAM, which has gotten better over the years though. God damn french just wanting to be different.

But whatever.
